Release date: 17 Mar 2011

The current situation for Gen-i and Telecom IT and communication services in Canterbury continues to be stable and operational, and there are no significant changes to report.

As the needs of emergency services and government providers have been sustainably met, we’ve increased our support for organisations providing essential services.

We are working closely with our commercial clients as they restore their operations and get back to some semblance of a “new normal” in Christchurch.

We will continue to support the rebuild and recovery activities across Canterbury, and help get Christchurch business back to business.

Tomorrow is the National Day of Mourning, a day for New Zealand to come together in remembrance of those lost in the Christchurch earthquake. Friday is also a provincial holiday, so that the people of Canterbury can attend the National Christchurch Memorial Service.

As part of our Business Continuity Plans, we have increased our support for our Canterbury-based team to ensure we meet our client commitments
