New Zealand’s tallest poppies got their chance to shine at the seventh annual World Class NZ Awards hosted by Kea on Wednesday, 24 March 2010. Nine individuals who significantly contributed to New Zealand’s success on the world stage received awards, with Gen-i sponsoring the New Thinking category for the second year running.
“The awards were a great opportunity to showcase Kiwis’ innovative thinking and hands-on approach,” says Jo Allison, Gen-i’s general manager of marketing and strategy.
Neuroscientist Dr Kerry Spackman was this year’s recipient of the Gen-i New Thinking award, recognising his world class leadership in the field of sports coaching.
“At Gen-i we are passionate about providing expertise and technology to help hands-on, talented Kiwis reach their business potential, just as Kerry Spackman has done,” says Allison.
As well as making landmark contributions to Formula One racing, Kerry Spackman’s skills are sought out by New Zealand’s top teams including the All Blacks, Silver Ferns and Black Caps. The New Zealand Government has also contracted Kerry to develop programmes to give New Zealand Olympic athletes a competitive edge for the London 2012 Olympic Games.
The black-tie event held at the Fale Pasifika was a huge success, with top international business people, Prime Minister John Key, senior Ministers and Gen-i clients, including Carter Holt Harvey and Mainfreight in attendance.
