Gen-i's Ingrid Cronin-Knight was named ITEX Computerworld IT Manager of the Year at the Computerworld ITEX Conference and Expo in Auckland last night.
Ingrid won the award for her achievements in her present role as Head of Business Delivery – Service Delivery Capability where she leads Gen-i's End-to-End (E2E) Service Delivery project.
Under Ingrid's lead, the new capabilities introduced have meant that overall client satisfaction levels have improved since 2008 (when E2E was first conceived). This year Gen-i was voted the most preferred vendor by 76 per cent of our clients (as measured by TNS Conversa).
Ingrid is overwhelmed by winning the award and says she couldn't have achieved what she has without the support of her team, Gen-i and its clients.
"I get a huge amount of encouragement from my team and together we deliver great outcomes for our clients. Awards like this are an opportunity to showcase examples of excellence in the use of ICT that deliver tangible business outcomes. This is also a great outcome for women in IT," says Ingrid.
Gen-i's other finalist in the awards Colin Philp, Head of ICT Operations, was acknowledged for his work to help transform Gen-i's infrastructure service operations from an internally-focussed ICT department into an ICT operation competing in the New Zealand outsourcing market.
Gen-i CIO, Peter Finch says the award will be a highly sought after accolade amongst IT professionals and is a great acknowledgement of Ingrid's contribution to Gen-i and its clients.
"This is fantastic and well deserved industry recognition for Ingrid. I'm delighted that others have recognised her tremendous skills and contribution. Having two finalists and the award winner also a great message to the industry on what an amazing and talent-filled place Gen-i is," says Peter.
Outside of work, Ingrid is studying for an MBA from Henley Management College, UK and has been a New Zealand international sports representative for cricket and indoor cricket, and was part of the gold medal winning team at the 2008 Indoor Cricket Masters World Series.
Judges Michael Foley, Principal at Voco, Steven Mayo-Smith, CIO at Medtechglobal and Sarah Putt, Computerworld Editor were impressed with the high calibre of finalists entering the awards which will gain high credibility and profile, not only within the IT industry, but also amongst New Zealand's corporate and government organisations.
The other two finalists were Ken Biswell, Technical Manager with Redvespa and Richard Lockwood, Head of Infrastructure Services at ASB Bank.
