Every year, Gen-i takes to the road to share the latest in ICT with its corporate clients, in 12 different locations across New Zealand. This year’s theme is all about fibre and the untapped possibilities it offers New Zealand organisations to increase productivity, deliver flexibility and robustness and cut costs. The Gen-i ICT Conference kicked off last week in Palmerston North and Wellington, and travelled to New Plymouth, Napier and Tauranga this week. Following this week the conference will be taking place in Auckland, Hamilton, Whangarei, Nelson, Christchurch, Dunedin and Invercargill.
As the keynote speaker at last week’s Wellington conference, Gen-i CEO Chris Quin had this to say to clients who attended:“The roll-out of Ultra Fast Broadband across New Zealand opens new opportunities for all of you as new business models turn ‘fast’ into ‘what fast can do for your business’.
“2012 is all about fibre and the enormous potential it offers. As business leaders you can take advantage of the range of applications and technologies that leverage this new fibre world in areas such as videoconferencing and collaboration, cloud computing, remote working and business continuity.”
Gen-i’s ICT Conference outlines some of these opportunities and solution areas, so clients will be better informed when making decisions that will strategically impact their future success. It aims to send attendees away with a fresh perspective on how ICT can support their business, and practical inspiration from our technology partners – Chorus, UltraFast Fibre, Enable, Huawei, Cisco, HP, Microsoft, Motorola, Nokia, TrendMicro, HP – who will demonstrate the latest offerings. Says Chris: “We believe New Zealand needs to exploit the potential of the fibre world to foster entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation in New Zealand’s area of strength and specialisation.”
