Telecom and Vodafone today announced that we are pleased to be included on the Government’s shortlist for its Rural Broadband Initiative (RBI).
Our proposal, based on a collaborative, open-access approach, would ensure the fastest possible start and would result in more infrastructure, choice of technology and services, and competition for rural New Zealanders.
The Telecom-Vodafone joint bid uses proven technologies with a clear evolution path, offered by two experienced infrastructure developers.
We are looking forward to working with the Government through the next stage of the process.
Benefits for Gen-i clients
Gen-i is already working with rural and regional businesses to identify and develop ICT solutions that address the key business issues they face.
Our rural market vision is to provide New Zealand's rural and regional companies with integrated technology solutions nationwide that enable economic growth and bring prosperity to the New Zealand economy.
Our RBI bid proposal will help accelerate this outcome.
It will create a high-speed broadband infrastructure that will accelerate information exchange up and down primary industry value chains, and provide the sector with access to a wider range of technologies and services.
We’ll continue to consult with rural businesses and stakeholders to identify and develop ICT solutions that help achieve this outcome.
If you have any questions, or want to discuss this further with me or any of the Gen-i team, please let us know.
