What is the price of the Verifone 3600 Mobile EFTPOS terminal?Normally terminals are rented rather than bought. We can provide you with a firm quotation based on a 36 month rental agreement that includes the terminal, technical support, finance costs, ETSL (bank support fee). On average this would cost approximately $2.50 per day. The mobile EFTPOS plan is additional.
Which data plan should be used?Mobile EFTPOS terminals must use the Mobile EFTPOS plan. This costs $12.95 per month and includes unlimited mobile EFTPOS transactions.
Is the Mobile EFTPOS terminal insured? All damage to, and theft of, terminals on a rental contract is your responsibility, so you will need to speak to your insurance company about this.
How reliable are the mobile terminals compared to fixed line terminals? Our testing, approval process, and customer feedback confirm that the mobile terminal operates superbly and offers the same if not better reliability than fixed terminals. Obviously the terminal requires Telecom mobile coverage.
What are Merchant numbers? You will need a merchant number to operate an EFTPOS machine. This merchant number is connected to a bank account where the money is transferred. Every Machine has a) Merchant number & b) Terminal number. Normally you will have one merchant number but there can be several Terminal numbers, depending upon the number of Mobile EFTPOS terminals you have.
What if we want to use our own Merchant number? If you already have a Merchant number, you only need to add the additional Terminal number(s) to your existing Merchant number, which takes around 2-3 working days. Please note that if your Merchant number is with the ANZ network, their network is not yet ETSL compliant and so you will need a new Merchant number. This will take about a week.
What happens if we don’t have a Merchant number? We can help you get a merchant number. Processing this will take 1 – 3 weeks, depending on who you bank with.
